This is one of the ideas that uphold the approach of the Official Master and Doctorate in Peace, Conflict and Development Studies in the Universitat Jaume I (UJI) of Castellón (Spain) within the framework of the UNESCO Chair of Philosophy for Peace. The curriculum promotes specific knowledge in the areas of theories of peace, conflict, cooperation for development, humanitarian aid, peace culture, democracy, human rights, peaceful communication, gender and postcolonial studies. It also highlights tools for the prevention and peaceful transformation of conflicts. The UNESCO Chair of Philosophy for Peace was created by an agreement among UNESCO, Caja Castellón-Bancaja Foundation and the Universat Jaume I (UJI) of Castellón in October 1999 to promote a constant building and spreading of cultures for making peace(s). This Chair carries out its main activities in the Postgraduate Center of the (UJI).
